Coaxing nuanced expression from analog machines and digital possibilities alike, Noah Pred has been envisioning the future through electronic music for over twenty years – yet the story of this accomplished producer and DJ continues to unfold. Reinterpreting his signature production style anew, 2018 saw the release of two full-lengths charting the territories between deep space experimentalism, intricate polyrhythms, delicate soundscapes, evocative acid, and hypnotic dub elements.

The breadth of Noah’s sonic worldview can most easily be accessed through his monthly two-hour podcast, IFS. Each episode reveals the depth of his technical approach, the sensibility of a seasoned selector, and the pedigree of a late-night veteran. A two-time Juno Award nominee in his native Canada, a music educator and technologist in his adopted hometown Berlin, an alum of Cynosure, Highgrade, and Trapez LTD, and founder of the acclaimed Thoughtless imprint, Noah is also a DJ whose past residencies at Stereobar in Montreal and Fukhouse in Toronto helped lay the framework for his dynamic yet fluid sets that continue to resonate with diverse communities.

A notable newcomer in Canada’s underground scene of the early 2000s, Pred’s distinctive production style earned him a place among his peers with releases on Immigrant, Intrinsic Design, and Consigned Recordings. Driven by the fuel that fired up Thoughtless, Noah relocated to Berlin in 2011, where his creative horizons continued to expand via collaborative projects with Tom Clark as False Image on Get Physical, with Pablo Bolivar on Apparel and Biotop, with Tim Xavier on Alphahouse, and with Deepchild as Concubine.

Between his recent solo EPs for Traumraum, Compute, and Biotop, his vivid sets of techno, house, and electro, the advanced sound design of his haunting atmospherics, and the ever-evolving scope of his technical capabilities, Noah’s commitment to electronic innovation remains as strong as ever – and in the face of global uncertainty, his utopian sonic narratives have never felt so vital.

Rowan has been DJing and promoting events in BC for over a decade sharing the stage with mainstay festival acts like Adham Shaikh, Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Ganga Giri, Delhi 2 Dublin, Bluetech, Saqi, Desert Dwellers, David Starfire, Drumspyder, Random Rab and more. He has performed at events and festivals all over the pacific northwest, including Shambhala, Oregon Eclipse (2017), Diversity, Fairies & Fools, Atmosphere, Entheos and toured across North America with his wife Alice, djing live sets offering transformative Bellyfit® workshops.

NICK KARMA
Left Coast Crew

It all got started at the turn of the century. The first pair of tech 12’s, and mixer then flash forward to moving west to Victoria BC on Vancouver Island in 2003.
Played drums in a local rock band, and started DJ’ing a few parties here, and there quickly flourished into loads of friends with like minded hobbies, a residency, and playing along side of some of the who’s who of the electronic scene on the Island. Still Crafting his sounds he forges into the future with a constant love for the rhythms of planet Earth. Especially the deep, funky, groovy, and obscure.
