Before the Flood\, presented by National Geographic\, features Leonardo DiCaprio on a journey as a United Nations Messenger of Peace\, traveling to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change firsthand. He goes on expeditions with scientists uncovering the reality of climate change and meets with political leaders fighting against inaction. He also discovers a calculated disinformation campaign orchestrated by powerful special interests working to confuse the public about the urgency of the growing climate crisis. With unprecedented access to thought leaders around the world\, DiCaprio searches for hope in a rising tide of catastrophic news. \nFrom Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Fisher Stevens and Academy Award®-winning actor\, environmental activist and U.N. Messenger of Peace Leonardo DiCaprio\, Before the Flood presents a riveting account of the dramatic changes now occurring around the world due to climate change\, as well as the actions we as individuals and as a society can take to prevent the disruption of life on our planet. Beyond the steps we can take as individuals\, the film urges viewers to push their elected officials in supporting the use of alternative energy sources such as solar and wind power. “We need everyone to demand bold action from their political leaders and to elect representatives who have their best interests at heart\, not the interests of corporations to perpetuate a cycle of greed and destruction\,” says DiCaprio. “This documentary shows how interconnected the fate of all humanity is — but also the power we all possess as individuals to build a better future for our planet.” \nBefore the Flood premieres in theaters on October 21st and will air globally on the National Geographic Channel on October 30th in 171 countries and 45 languages. The film is directed by Fisher Stevens and produced by Leonardo DiCaprio\, Fisher Stevens\, Jennifer Davisson and Trevor Davidoski with Brett Ratner and James Packer of RatPac Entertainment. It was written by Mark Monroe and Executive Produced by Martin Scorsese\, Adam Bardach\, Mark Monroe\, and Zara Duffy. The film is edited by Geoffrey Richman A.C.E.\, Ben Sozanski\, Abhay Sofsky\, and Brett Banks. The Director of Photography is Antonio Rossi. The Executive Music Producers are Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross with original music by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross\, Mogwai and Gustavo Santaolalla. \nThe carbon emissions from Before The Flood were offset through a voluntary carbon tax. The most recent such assembly of Tribes occurred when the Great Sioux Nation gathered before the Battle at the Little Big Horn. \nThe Standing Rock Sioux Tribe supports the peaceful and prayerful message of the Oceti Sakowin leaders and desires to assist with options for the Camp before winter sets in. The on-reservation camp will allow the tribe to explore and pursue considerations for a camp and longer term ways to meet the needs of the community that is 100% off-the-grid\, featuring Solar & Wind power generation. \nTHE DETAILS:\n—————————————————–\n7pm-9pm | all ages\n3 price options: $10\, $20 or $30 per person – you pick\npaypal or etransfer to: payments@sunsetlabs.ca (answer to the e-transfer question: standingrock (all one word)) \nall proceeds going to Standing Rock Sioux Tribe\nhttp://standingrock.org/ \nLimited Seating –\ndo please book your tickets to ensure seats.\nDoor tickets might be available –\nwe’ll update here on this page as we know more. \nConcession will be open –\ntea\, drinks\, water\, treats. \n♥

SUMMARY:The Evolution of Relating
DESCRIPTION:How amazing would it be to live life offering every “no” without apology and every “yes” without being ashamed? Learn that it really isn’t about anyone else\, it’s about tuning in and taking care of you\, and then you can relate with ease and joy with others\, wherever they are at. \nCome join us in Victoria as two top teachers in the fields of sexuality\, vulnerability\, and self-acceptance weave their diverse perspectives into a day long intensive \nAre you ready to take an intensive based on FEARLESS RELATING with two of the most dynamic relationship geeks on the planet today? Come expose yourself to the next generation of relating! This workshop will blow your mind and open your heart with vulnerability diva Monique Darling\, and Peter Petersen\, professional mover and self care role model. \nCome and benefit from the blending of their unique experiences\, approaches\, and insights regarding skillful communication. They will help you get to your “no” without fear and uncover your “yes\,” releasing your armor and becoming more vulnerable. Discover an inner strength you did not know you have and the ability to laugh in the face of your greatest fears. \nSo much of the fear and hesitation in life comes not from the self\, but from fretting about what others may think\, what they will say\, or whom they might share it with afterwards. This can rob you of being able to enjoy the moment. Another set of fears come from passed-down beliefs that we accept without questioning them. \nWhat if you could make decisions and follow your heart…follow your body and your desires without worrying about what others thought? What if you were fearless in relating – first\, to yourself and then\, to others? \nCome join us for a unique day of exploration around such topics as: \n\nHow do we establish boundaries and create safe space for ourselves to explore with others?\n\nShifting paradigms from blame\, shame\, guilt & judgement\, to love\, acceptance\, understanding and presence.\n\nFactors that promote or inhibit intimacy:\nThe power of no and boundary (understand why your “no” says more about you than your “yes”)\n\n\nIn this workshop you will learn\, play\, and practice \n\nTo ask for what you want\, skillfully\, without attachment to the response.\n\nTo honor\, respect\, and be grateful for the answer “no”\, and still be hopeful for the answer “yes”.\n\nTo be honest and vulnerable about your wants and desires without shame\, without deflection\, without armor.\n\nTo hold space for someone who has not yet learned these skills.\n\nTo own your fears\, instead of them owning you.\n\nTo not be afraid to be the one who loves you the most\n\nTo learn to be even more vulnerable when you want to isolate or close down.\n\nRelease shame and haunting memories\n\nModalities of communication: verbal and non verbal\n\nWhen you understand who you truly are\, the need to compare yourself to another\, envy\, the urge to impress\, to BE different than you are all dissolve. In the beauty\, wonder\, and awe in discovering how magnificent “your” puzzle pieces fit together\, the ever changing infinite ways YOU shift\, dance\, together\, each one so unique\, so extraordinary. It could take an entire lifetime to only just begin to discover. Yet so often we abandon the quest of self discovery\, to follow another\, or to invest in relationships\, doing what we have been told is the “right” way to be. The greatest freedom that we could ever express or imagine\, is by simply giving ourselves permission to gently keep returning to us. We can transform the world by simply being 100% ourselves. \nCome with an open heart and a willingness\, a longing\, to bring your stories into the light\, so that they can stop you running away from your shadow. \nAll activities and exercises will be guided and are always optional. You can participate in the workshop solo\, with a partner and in small groups. All participants are asked to practice with each other\, or by oneself\, in whatever manner supports you best. Many options will be offered to support each individual experience. \nSet your sights on registering for this breakthrough intensive\, and get a two for the price of one deal by paying only what it ordinarily costs to learn from just one of these facilitators. \nThis will be a very special class for us! This will be the first time where our workshop will be avaiable live streaming on the web. So even if you cannot be here in person\, you can still join us and even participate in the workshop for 3 hours for only $30 USD. \nTo register for this live streaming event please RSVP here: http://stevenseva.com/online-event-next-level-relating-masterclass-with-monique-darling-peter-petersen/ \nTicket Prices for in person are as follows: (In Canadain Dollars) at the door for the day event $129\, (It is $102 for the first 3 people who sign up and normal presale is $117 for Saturday day only) . An early bird for both Saturday day and the evening puja is $132 and the normal price is $152. If you would like to come to both the Friday night event and Saturday day and evening events\, which is the “Puja” it’s $172. \nTo RSVP please go here to reserve your ticket: http://stevenseva.com/monique-peter-21st-century-relating-master-class-victoria/ \n\nAbout Your Facilitators:\nMonique Darling\, workshop facilitator extraordinaire has led over 1\,000 workshops in the past 5 years and is the author of Beyond Cuddle Party. SUMMARY:Time is Art : Synchronicity and the Collective Dream : Film & Talk
DESCRIPTION:BLOOM VICTORIA presents: TIME IS ART : Synchronicity and the Collective Dream \nBloom Victoria is delighted to present the Canadian Premiere of TIME IS ART. This documentary explores synchronicity as a portal to a new reality; perhaps we can tap into a way of being that is not ruled by a finite sense of time\, but rather by the ability to live in harmony with the true creative nature of our existence. We will be joined by intuitive healer PENELOPE HAGAN of PENELOPE’S SPIRITUAL SERVICES\, who will discuss cultivating\, working with and grounding in synchronicity. \nSYNOPSIS\nThe documentary film follows Jennifer\, a writer who is compelled to make sense of the mysterious and powerful energy she felt at her aunt’s deathbed. A series of strange coincidences leads her on an exploration of synchronicity – the concept that everything is interconnected\, and that time is not so much a chronology as it is an infinite cycle. Considering herself something of a skeptic\, she treads the fine line between nervous breakdown and ecstatic revelation as she seeks out guides in her search for answers. Together\, they explore a reality where time is transformed from a unit that can be measured and commodified -“Time is money”- to an experience of oneness with the natural rhythms of nature and the universe. It is here that the writer discovers that time is\, in fact\, art. \n“Time is Art” is ultimately the story of an artist’s search for inspiration in a money-driven society that shuns creativity\, and of the human search for meaning in a seemingly meaningless world. Presented as a cinematic meditation along the lines of Waking Life and Samsara\, this film takes an experimental approach that allows us to experience reality as Jennifer begins to see it – one less concerned with linear storytelling\, and more open to the cyclical patterns of nature\, the hidden meanings of symbols\, and the dreamlike overlapping of people\, places\, and moments. \nCompelling conversations with fellow seekers Toko-Pa Turner\, Richard Tarnas\, Amy Lansky\, Graham Hancock\, Daniel Pinchbeck and Rupert Sheldrake as well as artists and activists guide us through the underlying premise of the film: perhaps we can tap into a way of being that is not ruled by a finite sense of time\, but rather by the ability to live in harmony with the true creative nature of our existence.\nInspired by acclaimed & visionary author José Argüelles’ studies in ancient indigenous wisdom\, this film explores the idea that modern humanity is immersed in an erroneous and artificial perception of time that deviates from the natural order of the universe. We have become disconnected from the natural rhythms of the earth by focusing only on money\, consumerism and exploitation while deep down inside\, we crave the return to a foundation of culture\, community\, and creation.\nAs Jennifer navigates the labyrinth of her own light and darkness\, she opens herself to a new reality in which everyone and everything appear connected by a larger purpose. She is revealed to be part of a global movement of people challenging a linear and restrictive consciousness in exchange for one grounded in meaningful connection and action – a template for a new era where we are one with the earth and each other. \nBLOOM VICTORIA is one of 30 bioregional chapters of the Bloom Network. Under the moniker Piranha Piranha he collaborated with long time friend and business partner Dan Solo\, producing music and initiating the forward-thinking brand therinseout. They contributed to the growing foundation of the west coast underground scene by championing weekly parties as well as other one-offs and experimental events. The night was responsible for showcasing a deeper\, more progressive side of dance music\, and introducing taste-making local and international artists to a developing city. \nSergio continues to push his sound and production ability into new territory\, collaborating with a growing league of producers representing the international landscape. His DJ sets quite often range in flavour but mostly waver in the house and techno realm with a lean towards tracked-out\, low end sounds. His reputation as a selector and live performer have allowed him to perform alongside some of the cultures most influential characters\, as well as won him prime time bookings at festivals such as Bass Coast and Shambhala. \nSergio has stepped into new realms of creativity with a move to Toronto in early 2015.
