Introducing: The Dharma Dohme!

There’s so many amazing outdoor events, festivals & projects around here, and many could benefit from more usable spaces for workshops, yoga, art showings, dance spaces and so on! When we saw an opportunity to partner with the Starseed Collective in owning this beautiful structure and keeping it available to Vancouver Island projects, it was a no-brainer.

The Dharma Dohme, as we have recently named it, is a lovely little 20′ geodesic dome made by Pacific Domes of Portland. Though it could work as a year-around shelter, our intention is to have it active throughout Island & BC functions for 3 of 4 seasons, and have it nicely stored – dry & clean – through the winter months.

The Dharma Dohme can be assembled and disassembled by just a handful of people over 3 or 4 hours, has a number of small round windows across it, a thick vinyl waterproof lid, a zip-off moonroof if you want to open it more to the skies – and a huge bay window on one side. It has already made appearances at Entheos, VEMF & Shambala, and will next been seen next weekend at Sunset Room for a huge back-to-back weekend featuring Mr.Rogers on Friday and The Desert Dwellers on Saturday night – where it will become an Urbanheart art space as well as Nagdeo’s teahouse!

While we do not have a long-term fixed intention for the dome’s use, we know that having it available will help out with a number of great projects and events – and it will be available to rent for aligned local events as well. Website & more details about that to follow!

Meanwhile, Chloe Starseed and I thank you for supporting the Dharma Dohme’s presence here on the island, and welcome your project ideas or rental inquiries anytime. We look forward to seeing you in the Dohme sometime soon!
