Once a year or so we see the return of longtime Victoria music-maker (and now global superstar) Kaminanda, and his journeys home are ALWAYS worth celebrating! We’re very excited to share with you MOSAIC… a long day & night together with ALL KINDS of different sounds & energies, foods & treats, contributors & collaborators. This will be the last Sunset Labs event before we close the space for 6 weeks for our annual deep clean / purge / upgrades and surprises… come out and dance the evening away on the patio with us, and then we’ll move inside and go deeeeper!

Kaminanda’s ever-evolving sound is a playground of original Midtempo grooves, tribal rhythms, Psy-Dub, and bouncy four on the floor. Using a generous dose of musical instruments and applied music theory designed to take the listener/dancer on a journey traversing landscapes reflecting a myriad of diverse influences; Focusing more and more on hypnotic elements of House, Techno and Trance while remaining in the slower tempos. A kaleidoscope of warm melodies and twisting, winding compositions.

MOSAIC: HOLGAAAR THE DRAGON!

The Community Unity Project Society of Victoria BC and OUR Ecovillage of Shawnigan Lake have partnered to co-imagine and bring into fruition – HOLGAAAR THE DRAGON! Together on this night (and MANY various upcoming community events) we will be co-creating with the hearts & hands of the villagers, HOLGAAAR’S SCALES. Each scale will be as unique as each of us and thoughtfully inter-cobbed together to become a very large Earthen dragon traversing the 75 acres of OUR lands. Ready to MOSAIC? Arrive early to join us and help build some of Holagaar’s HEART SCALES so we can bring to life this mighty dragon! ♥
