Art Spotlight: Urbanheart’s Shakti

“I wanted an opportunity to express my shadow, my dark side, my fierce Goddess within. Thanks to the amazing work of Kristin Urbanheart Grant and Louis EyeoftheMind Bockner, I feel I was able to do that. I highly recommend the experience…to all women. Each one of our masks is valid. Shine and be seen.” -Alice Bracegirdle, Creator of Bellyfit

Shakti Love Poem

I don’t love my body because it looks this way.
My body looks this way because I love it.
I am a daughter of Aphrodite.
I am an embodiment of divine beauty and truth.
Every cell in my being is an extension of divine source and ultimate creation.
Like the moon, I have many masks, and mystery is my cloak.
Like the sun, I shine with the fire of creation and bring light to darkness.
My face holds the windows to my soul, and speaks the truth of my path.
My breasts give sustenance and sensuality, the emblem of my feminine nature and womanly gifts.
My belly and womb are the very source of creation itself, bringing forth the next generation in evolution.
My hips bear the weight of generation after generation, undulating through space and time like waves on the wind.
My spine gives rise to the Shakti that spirals from Root to Crown and back again, linking Heaven and Earth through the fleshy temple of my being.
My heart beats reverently, with no agenda, no expectation, blossoming like a thousand petalled Lotus, deep in the Sanctum of Hope.
Namaste.
