Pecha Kucha: Music!
Next week the last volume of Pecha Kucha for 2011 arrives, and it promises to be amazing. Same presentation format, 20 images x 20 seconds each. The presenters for this round have been selected to work to a music theme so expect a killer multimedia mix tape of a night. Check back to the facebook page for updates and previews of the line up. I’ve been invited to be one of the presenters for this installment (this will be my second appearance at PK so I feel just SLIGHTLY more confident about it) and my presentation is entitled ‘Music as a Pathway to Peace’ – which I’m not going to write anything more about here, cuz I want you to come!
If you’re not already familiar with PechaKucha, here’s some background! PechaKucha Night was devised by architects Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It has turned into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of “chit chat”, it rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It’s a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.
The Victoria team has been delivering the PechaKucha nights since late 2009, and it’s an amazing quarterly opportunity to meet brilliant people from our community – while taking in some of the most interesting & diverse thoughts & experiences you’re likely to imagine. Look forward to seeing you there!

I need to make one of these.
