Seats are filling up for the inaugural Indigenomics SHE event November 1/2nd in Vancouver! Registration closing October 21st.

The inaugural Indigenomics SHE conference is a space for the vision of Indigenous women’s participation in the Indigenous economy. There is a rapidly increasing number of Indigenous women in business. This conference brings together a unique perspective of financial empowerment, education, collaboration and innovation. Participants will include Indigenous women entrepreneurs, as well as those in finance, economic development and allies in the Indigenous economic reconciliation space. Conference sessions will bring an energetic perspective to Indigenous women in business including our role and leadership in the emerging Indigenous 100 billion dollar Indigenous economy.

Last year, the Sunset team completed a profound experiential reconciliation workshop called The Village Workshop. The roughly 20 hour program is produced by Kathi Camilleri, a BC-based cultural safety practitioner, workshop facilitator and community engagement specialist.

As a small business operating in unceeded First Nations territories, our personal and corporate decolonization is a necessary undertaking.

This amazing offering by Kathi Camilleri was so powerful and something that we really enjoyed doing as a team together. It made complex conversations very accessible and left us all deeply moved by the work.

Indigenous Perspectives Society is an Indigenous-l

Indigenous Perspectives Society is an Indigenous-led charitable and not-for-profit social enterprise that offers specialized training and consulting services to help foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives, cultural differences, and the need for self-determination. Located in Lkwungen territories, IPS’ creation story starts more than 30 years ago with a group of founding Elders who saw a need for an Indigenous-led entity advocating for Indigenous children and youth within the child welfare system.

While Indigenous child and family wellness remains a priority mandate of the organization, IPS programming has expanded. IPS now serves Indigenous peoples and communities, as well as providing training and resources for broader cultural competency among non-Indigenous audiences throughout British Columbia and across Canada.

Their invitation today in recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is to donate one day's pay to support Indigenous self determination.

Today’s the day I get to reveal something very cool we’ve been working on for a few months now - the Many Incarnations of Sunset Labs - by DRONE!

Just a few weeks before COVID struck, we completed a 6 week reno of Sunset Labs that involved a top-to-bottom paint job, the introduction of a lot of wood and organic elements, tons of new lighting and technology, a beefed up new sound system and WAY more.

Then suddenly we were closed for two years. It’s been a tough go since then.

As the world slowly comes back to life, so are EVENTS, and we’ve had a lot of time to prep for their re-arrival. It was SO FUN to capture this aerial video and we’re excited to share a sneak peek with you of some of the many ways Sunset Labs can now be used to host top-notch in-person, virtual and hybrid events.

We send up HUGE thanks to the event producers, all you beautiful guests ‘actors’ who joined us, the Sunset Labs and Stream of Consciousness teams and our amazing drone pilot Marty for so skillfully flying around in circles INSIDE a crowded studio!

Did you know we've been hexed?! We're so excited to share this huge project we completed recently, introducing professional sound baffles into the venue to make it sound better than ever for music events and video production work.

We began this project in the down days during covid and then recently completed all the amazing lighting and programming.
