Art of the Week: DDR7 by Materia Media

 
I think this is the first time we have used the design of one of our events as the ‘Art of the Week’, but it won’t be the last! Since the beginning of the series (with just a couple exceptions) the event media for Dance Dance Resolution (our longest-running Sunset event series) has been created by Brook Paulin of Materia Media.

While every designer has their particular areas of mastery, Brook’s tireless attention to detail and multi-layer visions bring so much life to our posters and have always played a huge role in capturing & communicating the energy we wish to convey for a particular show. I think perhaps we have hired him to do about 100 pieces of media over the years!

His 2012 take on our new year’s eve Dance Dance Resolution event is simply stunning, and warrants being the first event media we share as the art piece of the week!
