WHAT A NIGHT!! To have the pleasure of seeing David Starfire OR Govinda play a show is a unique and dance-frenzied treat. But to see them BOTH on the same bill in an intimate space like Sunset? WHOA. We knew they wouldn’t hold anything back – and neither did we! We brought in a complete additional sound system; flipped the whole room’s orientation and had everyone play from the new live stages; added superstar Kytami to the lineup.. and sold out the show of course. We might be hard pressed to top that one anytime soon… unless of course Lynx, Tarran the Tailor & Buckman Coe go on tour together anytime soon. ;)

The long-standing tradition of bringing together some of the very best artists, best dancers & best friends to ensure an amazing On The Cusp celebration was certainly upheld this night. What a GLORIOUS night! Frisky fiends & flirty frenzies dominated the all-night dance naughtiness, full of dance & aerial performances, bodypainted beauties, bold burlesque & bumping beats!! The big fan blasted through the dance cage, cooling the heated skin of the provocatively-clad voluntary prisoners, while on the other side of the room Kink Underground offered the opportunity to experience bondage 101 amidst the safety of friends and an equally exploratory community!

Gallery: Full Moon Masquerade
While the Full Moon parties are notoriously amazing, this one was really something special. The first Full Moon event we have hosted at Sunset Room since the October 2012 renovation, this night was a gorgeous reminder of just how magical our dance community can be. Opening the event with a yoga class by Adam Tree and a mask-making workshop by Chloe Starseed, the Masquerade-themed night had tons of creative & playful energy quickly flowing. The DJ sets were simply amazing right across the board, and featured the welcome return of brother Mountain Eyes to Sunset’s decks and also the Sunset Room debut of “Beethoven’s Little Brother” – a classical music/electronic fusion incarnation of our event host Joshua James. Really excited to see what BLB evolves into!

Not every artist that sets their mind to it ‘makes it’ out there in the big world… so when a well known Victoria music maker like Kaminanda returns, who is now frequenting festivals with some of the biggest headliners in the world, it’s a pretty big deal. Joining him for Returning Saturn’s ‘Ascend’ event was Victoria newcomer and up-and-coming psy-glitch producer Sixis (Substruk Records, USA) who also made quite an impression!
